Aspen Skiing is comprised of four
separate ski resorts, Aspen (Ajax), Snowmass, Aspen Highlands, and
Buttermilk, and one beautiful ski town in the heart of Aspen which is as
famous for its après ski as for its skiing with a large outdoor pedestrian
mall with top Aspen restaurants, bars, and shopping. Aspen Highlands has some of Colorado's
best steep, big-mountain skiing amongst 1,028 acres in Highland Bowl,
Olympic Bowl and Steeplechase. Families however will love Aspen Highland's
mid-mountain beginner and intermediate terrain and the lower mountain.

Snowmass is Aspen’s largest, with 4,406 vertical feet
and 3,362 acres of terrain, 91 trails, 21 chairlifts servicing a family
friendly choice of cruisers, glades, steeps, terrain parks, and halfpipes.
Skiing the Big Burn at Snowmass with views of Aspen’s Maroon bells is a must
on every skiers bucket list. Snowmass is famous for its family ski programs
and children’s ski lessons, centered at The Treehouse Kids' Adventure
Center. The Village at Snowmass now features a Viceroy Hotel and a skier
resort village with condo lodging and top Snowmass restaurants as well.
New this season, Snowmass adds 230 acres of gentle tree skiing and glades on
Burnt Mountain, accessed from the Elk Camp lift, bringing total skiable
acreage to 3,362 acres, making Snowmass the second largest ski area in
Colorado, after Vail.
Aspen Mountain (Ajax) is located in town with a convenient
Silver Queen gondola and great runs with perfect views of Aspen's
downtown below, and many top
hotels like the St Regis and Little Nell that are in walking distance to
Aspen’s slopes.
Buttermilk is the smallest, best known for its terrain
parks, night skiing and for hosting the big Winter X Games in January for 14
years and running. You
can ski all 4 of Aspen’s mountains on the same pass and there is a free bus
service that runs between each of these mountains.
